Depression is one of the most common psychiatric disorder seen in the UK...and so it is likely that some people with diabetes will experience depression.
It can occur as part of a normal response to the diagnosis and as the individual learns how to get their life ‘back on track’, then their mood can lift. If someone finds that this doesn’t happen then it may be that they require short term help. GPs and practice nurses are much more aware of depression and its treatment and so this should be the first port of call. Access more information from:
