Unwell Should I see my doctor?

If you do not know why you are unwell then, like anyone else, you should get advice from your GP.

If you have diabetes and you are unwell you should also contact your doctor (or nurse practitioner) if:

  1. you do not know how to check sugar levels

  2. you do not know what to do to correct high sugar levels

  3. you have been unwell and sugar levels have not settled despite action

  4. you are feeling sick or have diarrhoea that’s lasted more than 48 hours (most diarrhoea is viral in origin and settles in this timescale) especially if you are unable to take in enough fluid

  5. you are unsure what to do with your medicines
